Onam handloom expo 2010 in Calicut

Welcoming this year’s Onam, Union textile ministry and Kerala state handloom department is organising a three week Onam handloom expo in Calicut from august 1st to august 22nd. Besides the 30 Primary Handloom Cooperative Groups, Hantex Cooperative groups from other districts will participate in the expo. There will be a special demonstration by Kannur Institute of Handloom Textile Technology during the expo. 20 percent rebate will be given to the handloom products.
The expo is expected to collect 1 crore rupees which is twice the sales last year.
