The first Kerala industrial infrastructure Development corporation (KINFRA) rural garment park will be setup at thiruvambadi, Calicut .By the first week of next month, the initial setup of the park will commence. KINFRA is planning to setup 5 parks in the state. The park is to be setup in 3 acres at an estimated cost of 5 crores per park. The parks will provide employment opportunities to the rural people and will improve degrading textile sector.

KINFRA will design the parks to include in its modern facilities to help private entrepreneurs establish apparel making units which can generate employment for about 300 rural women. For expenses towards their training purpose, government will also be providing the due subsidy.
