This event is a national level event and the sole purpose of the event is to bring out the best of all budding engineers who are going to mould the future of the country into prosperity and technical excellence. Calicut mini marathon – 2011 on February 6

Indian institute of Management , Calicut is organizing “Calicut mini marathon -2011 ” in association with federal bank and Usha school of Athletics . The event is scheduled to happen on February 6th . the theme of the mini marathon is ” Transforming lives ” .

The event is aiming to create awareness and sensitivity about the issue of social inclusiveness of differently abled children. All donations from the marathon will go to a few select NGOs in and around Calicut who are working for the cause.

This is the second edition of the Calicut mini marathon . The event was officially launched on January 18th at Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode Campus.

FOSS MEET 2011 to be held at NIT Calicut

The annual FOSS meet at national institute of technology will be held on February 4 to 6 . This is the 7th edition of the annual FOSS meet at NIT Calicut. The event is jointly organized by NIT Calicut’s Student Groups: FOSSCell NITC, Computer Society of India (CSI), Computer Science and Engineering Association (CSEA), Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and Free Software Users’ Group Calicut.

FOSS meet 2011 will feature a Debian developer camp . Only limited number of people can participate in the developer camp .

‘Janapriya Nayakan’ Dileep completes a century of films with his upcoming release ‘Karyasthan’. This landmark movie in Dileep’s career is directed by debutant Thomson. Akhila Sasidharan plays the female lead opposite Dileep. Veteran actor Madhu stars in a prominent role. The movie also stars Siddique, Salim Kumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Harishree Ashokan and other prominent figures in Malayalam movie industry.
‘Karyasthan’ has been scripted by Udayakrishna and Sibi.K.Thomas who has tasted back to back success with their previous films Twenty 20 and Pokkiriraja. This much awaited comic caper is produced by Neeta Anto under the banner of Aan Mega Media.

Junior chamber International Zonal meet in Calicut

Theatre training programme in Calicut

Malabar Christian College Indo Anglian Theatre is organising a Theatre training programme as part of the 6^th Kozhikodan Nadakotsavam 2010 for students on September 23. The five day programme will include analysis of plays performed during the Natakotsavam.
