Calicut International Airport

Calicut International Airport (IATA: CCJ, ICAO: VOCL) is also known as Karipur International Airport. The airport is not exactly located in Kozhikode district but is located in the nearby Malappuram District at Karipur. the airport is the twelve largest in India and is the third international airport in India the status being conferred on February 2 2006 which paved way for the development of the airport. The facilities at the airport include plush interiors with a seating capacity of 800 passengers and seating arrangements for transit passengers . Amenities for passengers in transist has improved. An inline baggage system which eliminates the need for an external x-ray based baggage handling sysem has been included.
